He holds a bachelor’s degree in General Studies with minors in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Fort Hays State University and has studied at the King Center's Scholars Institute.
As President and CEO of the International Institute to Improve Race Relations, along with his work as a lobbyist and public speaker, Pitts has spoken at over 900 conferences and earned numerous accolades. With over 40 years of civil rights experience, 25+ years in race relations mediation, 20+ years developing sustainable communities, and 30+ years organizing grassroots gang prevention programs, he brings extensive expertise to addressing modern race relations challenges.
